Why did you become a therapist? The interest of becoming a therapist is due to being curious about family systems, relationships and the role of the individual within the system. These curiosities came from seeing family interactions over time as a certified nursing assistant, personal care attendant and a psychiatric associate. I also loved and still love learning about the different types of therapy interventions to utilize in my own practice. I became interested in maternal mental health and took the training due to my own experience of having children in the NICU. I noticed this being an underserved population.
What are your interests outside of work? Outside of work I love hanging out with my family, making time for my friends, reading, immersing myself in nature, competing in fantasy football leagues, strategy gaming, cross country skiing, and traveling.
Do you have any pets? I have a Golden Retriever named Chip, and he is the sweetest.
What book have you read more than once? I have read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin, The Gifts of Imperfections by Brené Brown, and The Harry Potter Series by J. K. Rowling more than once. I have read a lot of different fantasy series.
What is one of your favorite quotes? "You are enough, a thousand times enough." - Atticus
